Overview

A 7-day itinerary for Goa that has it all!

Goa is popular both as a beach destination as well as a part destination. To have the best time of your life when in Goa, you need to have a perfect itinerary. Here, we bring to you the ultimate Goa itinerary for 7 day; a week that will guarantee a fun-filled as well as a memorable vacation.

Day 1 – Arrival

Upon reaching Goa, you can check-in to your hotel, and either opt to spend your day relaxing, or head out to explore the nearby markets. It’s advisable that you plan your trip in such a manner that you reach as close to a beach as possible, so that you can have the second half of your day to explore the nearby areas.

Day 2 – Check out North Goa

After having your breakfast, you can set off to North Goa, and enjoy some remarkable sightseeing tours of historical churches and forts. Of course, beaches would be on your itinerary; if you ask us, we would recommend visiting Vagator, Baga, and Calangute beaches, where you can also indulge in some thrilling water sports.

Later, you can move around Mapusa; then if you have time, pay a visit to Shri Bodegshwar Temple. End your day on a high note and return to your hotel for a tight sleep.

Day 3 – Explore the culture of Goa

Apart from the beaches of Goa, North Goa has a cultural side too that the visitors can check out to feel the real essence of the place. Home to more than 450 years old Mangeshi Temple, Ponda village lures visitors from far and near. Goa further exhibits a distinct influence on Portuguese culture., whereas its vibrant natural landscape, culinary specialities, and lively lifestyle offer a distinct identity of the state.

Day 4 – Sightseeing in Old & South Goa

After breakfast, start your day by exploring the traditional roots of Old Goa and check out Basilica Bom Jesus Church and Se Cathedral. Then, you can rent a bike or a car to visit the most popular beach in South Goa, the beautiful Palolem Beach, to spend some time relaxing. While South Goa does not match up to the part and lively vibes of North Goa, it has some of the finest beaches of the Indian subcontinent, including Varca Beach, Agonda Beach, Colva Beach, and Butterfly Beach. Later on, you can explore the bustling markets around.

Day 5 – Visit the Dudhsagar Falls

While you must be thinking that North Goa is home to the best beaches, then you are forgetting the Dudhsagar Falls, which should be one of the highlights of your trip. Start your day early, so that you can spend enough time here to appreciate the beauty of this place. Of course, Goa gets even prettier than when it rains, and the waterfall, far from the tourist hotspots, literally comes alive during the monsoon.

After this, you can visit the Aguada Fort, which lies within one-and-half hours by road from the falls.

Day 6 – Food and music

On the sixth day, you can opt to visit beaches during daytime, and then head out to enjoy some shopping. If the sixth day of your trip falls on a Saturday, you are lucky! You get to experience the vibrancy and authenticity of Goa in street markets, whereas live music fills the air. Plus, the food stalls lining up the streets one after another, will keep you engaged.
